Ignacio Nacho Gomez

Ignacio “Nacho” Gomez is a multiple awarding winning designer/silversmith known not only for his work in silver jewelry but in silver sculpture as well.His trademark “animal” bracelets, necklaces, and pins are renowned for their artistry and ingenious construction. Each is made using the repousse technique.H

 

e is also the son of Don Filiberto Gomez, who was one of the top silversmiths working for Antonio Pineda. Don Filiberto taught his son the art of working with silver. Nacho apprenticed in many workshops around Taxco, before starting his own taller in Taxco.

 

Along with his father, he also taught at the Escuela de Artes Plasticas in Taxco
